Vintage / Antique Watercolor Painting of Ships at Sea, Perfect for Your Gallery Wall Decor
This lovely watercolor features sailing ships at sea with a distant city in the background in shades of blue, brown, beige, and white. It is framed in wooden frame with scrollwork detailing, please note the discoloration that has occurred along some of this design in the pictures. The painting is behind glass and there is a red seal on the back from Bernard Saxton Pictures and Stationary, Brockton, Mass. I was able to find references to other works of art with this seal dating from the 1910s-1930s but I do not have an exact date this would have been framed. It is an estate piece and can now carry on its legacy in your home. The frame measures 13” W x 11” H. The artwork and backing board are held in place by small handmade antique nails. The backing paper has been torn away in some areas, as pictured. There is wire strung between two eye hooks, ensuring the artwork can be hung on the wall.
