Striking Vintage Framed and Matted Pastel Drawing of a Child by Rose Chin Wong
RC Wong was known for her portraits of young children, notably of the grandchildren of President Lyndon B. Johnson. She worked in all mediums including oil paint, watercolors, and pastels in addition to her sketches. This is an excellent example of her work. This pastel drawing of a small sandy blonde child with large blue eyes and freckles is quite striking; it is framed and matted in a mustardy yellow velvet. The work is signed and dated by the artist, RC Wong '65. The piece measures approximately 13 1/2" W x 16 1/2" H. There is some discoloration on the velvet, as pictured, but it may be possible to gently clean it, I have not tried. There are a few scratches on the wooden frame, as pictured. The artwork is behind glass and has remained in pristine condition. It is ready to hang as part of your gallery wall!
